Review and Expert Analysis
FAQs
1. Are the P2 laser modules compatible with the ACMER P3?
No,they are not compatible.
2. Can the ACMER P3 laser modules be used on the P2?
Yes, the P3 24W diode laser, 2W IR laser and Dual-Laser can be used on ACMER P2. However the 48W diode laser is not recommended.
3. Can the A2 IR laser module be used on ACMER P3 machine?
No,the A2 can be used on the P1 and P2, but it is not compatible with the P3.
4. What is the difference between the A2 IR laser module and the ACMER P3 2W IR laser module?
The A2 is a long-focus laser, while ACMER P3 2W is a short-focus laser with a smaller laser spot, resulting in more precise engraving.
5. What materials can ACMER P3 engrave and cut?
metal, plastic, non-transparent acrylic (except white).
6. What is the maximum size that ACMER P3 can engrave?
The maximum engraving size for the ACMER P3 depends on the laser modules and the presence of a conveyor. With a 24W diode laser or 2W IR laser, the maximum engraving size is 400mm x 400mm. For models with a 48W diode laser or dual-laser, the maximum engraving size is 400mm x 390mm. However, if the machine is equipped with our optional conveyor, the engraving size can be expanded to a maximum length of 4000mm, allowing you to engrave larger objects or continuous designs.
7. Are the honeycomb beds for ACMER P3 and P2 interchangeable?
The honeycomb bed used in ACMER P3 has positioning holes for fixation, which prevents misalignment during the pulling process. The height of the honeycomb bed for ACMER P3 is 13mm, while other honeycomb beds have a height of 22mm. Therefore, the honeycomb bed for ACMER P3 is compatible with P2. However, the honeycomb beds for P2 cannot be used on ACMER P3.
8. Is the ACMER P3 fully compatible with LightBurn?
Yes, ACMER P3 is 100% compatible with LightBurn software.
9. What is the difference between IR laser and diode laser?
IR laser and diode laser are two different wavelengths of light that produce different engraving effects on various materials. IR laser is the perfect choice for metal engraving, such as gold, silver, copper, aluminum, iron, stainless steel, etc. It produces a smaller laser spot, resulting in more precise engraving. Additionally, it can also engrave materials like ABS, acrylic, PC, leather, and stone. Diode laser, on the other hand, is the ideal choice for wood engraving. It provides precise engraving and is also suitable for materials like ceramic, acrylic, and plastic. Moreover, diode lasers have a stronger cutting capability. When choosing a laser for engraving, consider the material you want to engrave and select the appropriate laser based on its characteristics.
